The ESEE-3 is the model that started it all. This knife was the first design brought over when ESEE Knives (formerly RAT Cutlery) was formed, after the company's founder, Jeff Randall, designed the RAT-3 for Ontario Knife Company. The ESEE-3 remains a favorite among law enforcement and military teams due to its lightweight, thin profile, and various sheath options.
Crafted in the USA, the ESEE-3 features a 3.88-inch blade made from 1095 carbon steel, with a Rockwell hardness of 55-57. The cutting edge measures 3.38 inches, and the overall length of the knife is 8.19 inches. The blade has a textured powder coat finish, and the handle is 3D sculpted, made from either micarta or G10 material.
The ESEE-3 is built to withstand hard use. 1095 steel is a top choice for professional-grade cutlery, but it requires proper care and maintenance to prevent rust and staining, especially on the cutting edge and around the laser engraving. It is the user's responsibility to keep the blade lubricated and cleaned.
The knife weighs 6 ounces without the sheath and 9 ounces with the included molded polymer sheath, which features an ambidextrous clip plate. ESEE Knives offers a "Best in the Industry" lifetime guarantee, with no questions asked, on all of their products.
ESEE Knives was founded in 1997 by Jeff Randall and Mike Perrin, who launched Randall's Adventure & Training to bring realistic tools and knowledge to the consumer market. After years of operating in South America, training the Peruvian Air Force's School of Jungle Survival, they relocated their training stateside and launched ESEE Knives as a sister company to produce high-quality field-grade knives and gear.
The ESEE Izula is another popular model from the brand. It features an overall length of 6.25 inches, with a blade length of 2.63 inches. Like the ESEE-3, the Izula comes with a molded polymer sheath and clip plate.
Customers can explore the full range of ESEE Knives by visiting the brand's online store, where they can shop for a variety of fixed-blade and folding knives, as well as related accessories and gear.
