ESEE's carbon steel knives, including the Izula, are crafted from 1095 steel, a top choice for professional-grade cutlery designed for demanding use. However, 1095 steel is susceptible to rust and staining, especially on the cutting edge and around the laser engraving, if not properly cared for. It is the user's responsibility to keep the blades well-lubricated and cleaned. ESEE recommends using a dry film rust inhibitor, such as TUF-GLIDE or TUF-CLOTH, to maintain the knives' condition.
